About
The Hook Norton Village Museum and Archive is located in the Visitor Centre on the site of Hook Norton Brewery. Visitors are welcome to come and see the displays whenever the Visitor Centre is open.

The exhibition space shows life in Hook Norton as it was in years gone by and how it has changed over the centuries, using objects donated by local people and images and documents from the extensive archive. Objects currently on display include items connected with ironstone quarrying, the railway line and various agricultural practices. There are also sections relating to churches and chapels, and the old asylums.
The archive contains over 1500 photographs and postcards, old maps, school log books, parish records copies of local wills and deeds and other documents. Work is ongoing to digitise photographs and transcriptions of documents from the archive. Go to the Archive page to explore currently available material. In the meantime anyone wishing to find out more about the history of their properties or family are welcome to email
hooknortonvillagemuseum@gmail.com to make an appointment.
The Museum is run entirely by volunteers. If you would like to become involved, please contact us at the email address above. More information can be found on the Volunteers page.

The Museum works in close collaboration with the Hook Norton Local History Group. Further information and resources of the History group can be found here.
